Excavation Estimator

Rate: $28–$38/hour (based on experience)
Hours: Part-time or Full-time
Location: Office in Kirkland/Maltby with projects throughout King County
Benefits: Employer pays 75% of health insurance (eligible after 60 days), vision and dental coverage (after 90 days)

We are a mid-sized, family-oriented excavation contractor serving King County since 2006, with a reputation for quality work and strong client relationships. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated Estimator to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of diverse excavation projects, from preparing take-offs and cost estimates to working closely with customers, suppliers, and project managers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates for excavation projects

  • Obtain and compare material pricing from suppliers

  • Meet with customers and visit job sites to gain a clear understanding of project requirements

  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to support accurate and timely bids

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Excavation estimating experience strongly preferred

  • Proficient in reading building and civil engineering plans

  • Knowledge of local building codes preferred

  • Experience generating estimates in QuickBooks Online

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers, and project managers

  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
